TITLE: Enologist/Winemaking Intern
STATUS: Seasonal/ temporary
Duration: Approximately August to early December
Position Summary:
An excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for making high quality wine. Works directly with the Winemaking Team. This will be an integral winemaking support position, helping to facilitate daily harvest responsibilities. The position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who can work independently with minimal supervision. Duties will include: Harvest work order writing. Assist with daily fermentation monitoring including tank temperatures, cap inspection and management, verification and tracking of grapes and lots, assist in monitoring winemaking lab trials, review lab analysis, assist in generation and maintenance of ML starter cultures to meet production needs, assist Enologist and Lab Manager as needed.
One previous harvest experience in winery production preferred. Effective English communication skills(verbally and in writing), computer literate with solid MS Word and Excel skills. Must be able to climb stairs, lift 50 lbs., work in variable weather conditions, work flexible hours, including weekends, and at least 21 years old. Pass a post offer pre employment drug screening.
