Small Island, Big Flavor

A majestic mountain range, pristine coastline and wide river valley converge in Marlborough , New Zealand to create the country’s most prestigious wine-growing region. Nestled into Marlborough ’s Golden Triangle is Dryland’s signature Home Block vineyard. Planted in 1980 on its own rootstocks, the 33-acre vineyard was one of Marlborough’s first vitis vinifera plantings.

Marlborough ’s bright, sunny days and cool nights provide the distinct flavor characters that are the hallmark to the Drylands style—fresh, vibrant fruit characters, tangy acidity and herbaceousness that gives Drylands Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc its leap-out-of-the-glass intensity.

Winemaker Darryl Wooley is one of New Zealand’s most experienced and knowledgeable winemakers, credited with being among the group of pioneers that set the Marlborough style that world wine drinkers know today. He built a winery that is considered New Zealand’s most innovative and advanced winery, designed to handle a hurried Sauvignon Blanc harvest with the most modern and efficient techniques to preserve the vivacious character of Drylands Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
